Archsphere: Civil Species by ~atmos00000:iconatmos00000:

Sapiens - “Man” : The most scattered and largely populated single civil-species on Archsphere and the only hominid civil-species. The vast majority live in different settlements globally - from villages and towns to cities and megastructures. Sapiens are the most economically significant species. They are also the only species to possess all eight elemental races.

Dromea - “Raptors” : The only therapod civil-species on Archsphere. Commonly called “raptors” along side the rest of their related species and best known for their sickle-shaped talon. Dromea normally reach 5-6 feet tall and 7-10 feet long. The most varied physical feature of these warm-blooded reptiles are their feathers. Almost all dromeas have a movable crest of long feathers on their head. Males tend to have a mane of down feathers. But not all dromea have a full coat (completely covered with feathers). Naturally dromeas native to temperate regions are more seen with a fur coat of feathers while dromeas in the tropics are as bare and scaled as any other reptile (with the exception of the headcrest and mane).

Though a distinct minority within the world settlements they are the second most common. They are just as social as any sapien, managing jobs and partaking in other various ways economically. A percentage also share devoted faith toward religion. The other half of the world dromea population still continue to live in the wild within packs and tribal communities. The known elemental races to exist among dromeas are essens, brolens, sayrons, and golrons (spirit, fire, darkness, and earth). Dromeas don’t have the physical vocal features to speak sapien language but are more than capable of reading and writing. Most dromeas do share a similar vocal systems of growls, clicks, hisses, and purrs, and it’s possible for other civil-species to learn and understand general expressions. In public and commercial areas there are usually clipboards of the sort so dromeas can communicate through written language. An essen always have the communication advantages (Essens - spirit elements - are telepathic, communicating through an omnilingual brainwave link. )

Elephants - “Loxodons & Mammoths” : Two separate species of the same family, they are noted to be the most humble and wise. Loxodons and Mammoths mostly live nomadic live styles or live among small villages as citizens, living a mutual existence among sapiens and dromeas. Loxodons, hairless with one of the largest ears of any land animal, are native among the Omalian desert and the continent of Stralia. The Wooly Mammoths span across the northernmost continents and polar region. Some mammoth groups are known to domesticate and raise wolves to help fend against bears and saber-toothed tigers, as well as simply make companions. The known elemental races among Loxodons are essens, zalen, and golrons. Among mammoths there are essens and alcrons.

Rhamphors - “Dragons” - Once one of the most feared creatures, rhamphors now share a peaceful existence with most other civil-species. Rhamphors can reach lengths of 20-35 feet with a wingspan almost just as long. Rhamphors are a cosmopolitan species, though the highest density of rhamphors can be found within the volcanic mountain ranges in East Relcor where historically it’s been the safest location from their sole predators, Rocs. The vast majority of rhamphor elementals are brolens followed by the minority welrons and even fewer rylens.

Cetaceans - “Whales and Dolphins” - Having the largest number of species within the group (11) they span and rule the oceans. Many species have mutual ties among sea-going land animals. They are several noted interspecies tribes with their own title and customs. Relationships range from local dolphin pods aiding coastal towns in fishing from humpbacks and ships swimming in groups to fend one another from the various top ocean predators such as Megalodon and Mosasaurs. Most of the species are migratory scattered within every corner of Archsphere’s oceans. Humpback whales and several groups of gray whales travel north over Relcor through the sky rivers for safer passage away from predators. Elementals among cetaceans include the majority alcrons along with essens, and sayrons.

These are all the intelligent, civilized beings in Archsphere. I figured I'd put together all the known intelligent species that exist (have existed) and amde them coexist and cooperate. Of course Dragons are fictional, but I linked them to a hypothetical evolutionary route (explained more below).

The names of the species are derived from the actual scientific names part of their phylogenic relation.

Sapiens - The species name of human beings, Homo sapiens.

Dromea - Derived from the family name, "Dromaeosaurids" which is the family of dinosaurs that consists of all the different raptors (Velociraptors, Deinonychus, etc).

Loxodon - Derived from the genus name "Loxodonta" which is part of the scientific name of the two species of African Elephant.

Mammoth - though their common name is Wooly mammoths, the genus of their species is "Mammuthus."

Rhamphor - derived from "Rhamphorhynchus" which is the genus of an extinct flying reptile. I believe Rhamphorhynchus to be the closest animal to have every lived to resemble the classic western dragon. [link] So going about the evolutionary history on Archsphere, a population of Rhamphorhynchus eventually evolved to the Rhampors (dragons)

Cetaceans - it's the name of the phylogenic order consisting of whales and dolphins. (Did you know the closest land relative of the whale are cows?)
