Apology...and the epilogue
PeacefulLong time to see, huh? Yeah, it really has been a long time, considering one of my most recent journals, I stated I would be back and on dA regularly. But instead, what happens is that I end up disappear off the face of dA.
"What the hell, Atmos?!"
First and foremost, I want to apologize to anyone that I've worried, bothered, and/or hurt for what I did. I mean, what kind of asshole makes a surprise welcome getting back "to the swing of things" only to make a surprise vanishing act for over a month, totally dissing everyone. Well - me apparantly.
I feel I owe at least an explanation. Well my not-so-impressive excuse: "I was busy." See, the thing is that this is the first semester of my 4th year in college and I have high expectations to graduate after this spring semester, which is a challenge of its own, considering the university I go to demands more credits the average: up to 142.
Counting up and organizing my credits was pretty tedious. After having an evaluation with my department director I had play treasure hunt throughout my campus to confirm a number of credits, mostly settling disputes with the register's office who had been behind in adding up 12 credits in my record! - six of which I was accused of not paying. Luckily with my good documentation/evidence I had, everything turned out good in the end.
Boy, my biggest college advice. Make a copy of every reciept you pay, every contract or paper you sign. Copy everything!
Well anyway, aside from my adventures with college finance and bureaucracy, classes and labs are suck up all my time. Ironically though, despite the massively necessary attention to my acedemics this year, it's actually been a fun and uplifing experience - most especially, most especially my herpetology class. Really, I think this class is the single most important college course I've ever taken, being a future field biologist with a bais towards reptiles and amphibians. For the herpetology class, there are field trips practically every weekend to different forest parks throughout the island. And most of people I met who are in my class - they are the first people in my class that I've met that actually share the same interest as me in zoology and field biology. Right after me class during the week, sometimes, my one friend invites me in search of endangered species on the island "FOR THE FUN OF IT!" And being stuck in the middle of urban concrete with no car of my own - I don't think twice.
And this is where I get to my closure - the closure of Atmos. I have been contemplating. This is fourth year, and much attention for it is required. Meanwhile, I've finally been getting the opportunities to be active in my field of interest, working toward my dream goal. Unfortunately, the demanding focus in my goals drastically diminishes my chances of "internet-leisure."
I knew this would be coming eventually, but I honestly did not expect it to be so soon. I'm going to have to state my departure as Atmos. After this whole experience so far in this semester, I know I will not be able to commit to dA nor any other fun internet duties such as role-playing. It would be total lie if I said things could be way they once were.
If you're still with me this far, I really hope you can understand. I really will remember all the good times spent being dA, RPing, and sharing of fandom of just awesome shows. I actually owe all of you gratitude; you all have helped my get a better sense of my artisitic side.
If there is one thing I'll still embrace, it's my enthusiasm in photography and my motivation to keep building my skills with my Corel Paint Shop Pro, which is a perfect hand-in-hand hobby in my field of study. I don't think that would ever happen if it was for my experience here with the dA community.
I shall still (try to) be active on my second account. See, I want to have at least an account for much more....professional use. A dA account would certainly come in handy as a "photographic resume." So I'll be moving much of my photos on this account to the other - that way there's less likely to be confusion between my own accounts and what not.
So, I think I've said all I wanted to tell. I only further emphasize my apology. I really am sorry for all this, especially my rude disappearance. If anyone is upset or angry with me, don't hold back, because I likely deserve it.
Other than that, I wish all of you only great fortune for you all in the days to come!
(Note: I won't be here for most of the weekend. I'll be visiting some family since I finally have a rare weekend break from field trips and all. So I will be back [and you have my word] by Sunday and Monday to reply to responses and such).
